What Do Dreams Mean?

For the past two years I've been having trouble sleeping. Mostly it isn't hard to get to sleep, it is being able to stay sound asleep that has become difficult for me. We can thank my genes later for that one, ha ha. I was starting to get better rest in the last month, but in the last few days it began again. The sore eyes like if I've been in R.E.M. (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep, thus, dreaming quite a bit along with constant body twitching, which is triggered also by the state of R.E.M. Due to this (or so it is my assumption) I'm overtired and have muscle aches during waking hours. Sometimes being overtired and the brain becoming so alert and active, it becomes a vicious cycle all over again.

With this paradoxical sleep, I've been having such vivid dreams. Most of these dreams have been similar and within a few days of one another. I started to think, "What do these dreams mean, and why do I keep having the same ones?" So, I decided to research online about dreams and what they could possible represent. I found a resourceful website called DreamMoods.com to help clarify what I've been repetitively dreaming about! Although, this site is for entertainment purposes, it was pretty right on the money (especially when I looked into past dreams I've had).

I have been having two type of dreams and they seem to conflict with one another. One consists of woods/forests, almost like if it were during Autumn. A slow moving creek and sometimes a large river with a small older wooden home that appears to not be occupied. Within my naturalistic dreams, I've also have people in them. A few in the background that I don't see faces of, and two that I do. One of which is a male I'm close to by speaking to, hugging when greeting, and in reality know him, but the other is a woman who I don't know, but she appears in my dream in and out, doesn't speak to me, but comes nearby where I can picture her face. She looked sad. She looked like she was hiding a broken past...perhaps, this was a reflection of me, I don't know.

The other dream is about survival. This last one I had I decided to visit China, and while I was there I saw an asteroid heading to earth fast and furious. It hit in the Atlantic near the coast of the United States. Luckily, I wasn't there, but the aftermath devastation can be just as damaging. In this dream I had random "Goodbye" text messages from friends in the U.S. and someone that was with me told me to dial some numbers on my phone. I'm assuming I was on vacation with a group of people at a nice lodge/hotel on the beach. I also seemed to be the only bright one within the group of people I was with to figure how we are not 'out of the woods' and this very same asteroid can effect us. We didn't know the size or the impact it had made, except that a friend texted me indicating it hit the Atlantic Ocean. I knew there might be a chance of a catastrophic Tsunami and I was the only one not wanting to take the chance. While I gathered survival gear, like batteries, flashlights, floating devices, and food for my backpack, I saw the waves starting to crash over the mountains that surrounded our hotel almost like a natural barrier. I couldn't think about what I needed to do anymore....I just needed to do. It came so suddenly, and all I could think of is try to survive. A few people that were not prepared, I rescued on my rafts and for some odd reason I had more than enough ores. And from there, I woke up!
